The Blendtec Total Blender gives you total control of all your favourite recipes at the push of a single button on the wipe-clean waterproof keypad. Pre-programmed computerised control allows you to select the correct blending cycle for whole juice*, smoothies, ice cream, sauces, crushed ice, dressings, frozen yogurts, ice cream and more. During the cycle the blender automatically ramps the speed up and down to ensure perfect, consistent results every time. One touch of a button and the intelligent Smart-Touch™ technology means you can just stand back let the Total Blender look after itself.
If you want to fine-tune your blending tasks and take manual control of how the blender operates, this is equally easy to do. Simply select the desired blending speed with the speed up/speed down buttons and release the button once the desired speed is reached. The blender will then run at the desired setting for 50 seconds, unless you stop it by pushing any one of the buttons on the lower row (most tasks are complete in less than 50 seconds). There is also a pulse key for delivering power in short bursts – the motor stops when you take your finger off the button.
Frozen fruit smoothies are packed with nutrition and hitting the ‘smoothie’ button on the Total makes these delicious drinks in seconds. The square jug creates a vortex that eliminates the need for pushing and poking the ingredients around with a smoothie stick through the lid, or stopping intermittently to use a spatula to scrape ingredients back towards the blade. Raw food enthusiasts know the benefits of preserving the nutrition that is lost in cooked foods. With the Total Blender you can make instant hot soup from raw ingredients in a few minutes without boiling away the goodness! There is a comprehensive recipe book included with delicious suggestions for use in the healthy kitchen.
Nut butters, batters, soups, salsas, frozen fruit ice creams, baby foods, nut milks and more are just seconds away with this powerful and versatile machine, eliminating the need for separate appliances for these tasks. Grind grains and pulses to make meals and flours instantly. Add some more ingredients to the nutritious, freshly-milled flour and the arduous task of making dough is over in just a few minutes, with no mess and no need to knead! It's not just that the Blendtec makes blending easier and smoother, it cuts things so finely that the flavours are coming out like with no other appliance I ever used. The first soup I made, I could not believe how strongly I could taste all the ingredients I had put into it. The flavour was exquisite and the texture creamy. I made my best Pumpkin Soup ever! Not only is it a true joy for the taste buds, it is a very healthy way to prepare your vegetables. Quick processing and low heat will ensure you do not destroy enzymes and precious nutrients in the process.
I made some nut butter. Amazing how in less than a minute, the nuts turned into a smooth puree. I honestly never tasted an almond butter with such rich flavour. Delicious! The blender is very easy to clean.
In a few seconds it will look as shiny and pretty as the first time you unpacked it. If something is sticky, simply put hot water and a little dish soap and with a few pushes on the pulse button, it will be all clean. A wonderful recipe book comes with the Blendtec and will give you great ideas on how to use your Blendtec.
Now, making my own bread has become easy enough to do it anytime! I use whole wheat berries, ground them with the Blendtec in 50 seconds into a real nice whole wheat flour, I add the yeast, liquids and salt directly on the flour, pulse 4 times about 10 times, bring the dough in the centre in between, and that's it. My dough is ready to raise and cook. The bread turned out delicious. You will taste the difference with such fresh flour.... think about it, just 2 hours prior to eating your bread, the flour was still in whole berries. A treat!
I use my Blendtec mainly to prepare Baby Food. I use it about 6 times a day for that purpose only. I used to spend hours in my kitchen, cooking, chopping and blending my vegetables. Now, yes, I still have to cook my vegetables, but then I put them in one piece into my Blendtec, add some chicken stock, go to speed 4 and let it do the rest. One great feature too is that your Blendtec will stop automatically. So while it's blending your Baby Food, you can already get the bottles ready or clean up your kitchen! Fruits are even more easy to prepare, put them in the Blendtec, no water needed for fruits such as peaches, go to speed 4, 20 seconds and you have a delicious fresh peach puree for your little one. No additives, fresh, all natural, made in less than a minute! I spend about half of the time I used to in my kitchen and have more diverse, healthy and wonderful food to give to my little girl. Thank you for recommending the Blendtec to me, it has eased up my life so much. I can honestly say that this is the best thing I own in my kitchen, I would not like to spend one day without it.

I got my new Blendtec today!! I was ridiculously excited about getting it. I have an Oscar Hu 400 which is good.. but gets jammed constantly - everytime I use it - celery really jams it every time.. which was frustrating as I mainly wanted green juices ... containing celery.
Then I bough the Blendtec which I use everyday now.
The Blendtec is incredibly powerful, and makes smooth delicious juices - especially green juices - that I find more satisfying then in the Oscar as the fiber isn't removed in the pulp.
I'd buy again without question. The 20 second smoothie maker button that blends at different speeds is ideal. Pulse button stops jams. Very quick to clean. Handles ginger / celery / pretty much anything.
I've let the Oscar gather dust.. and used this everyday. Recommended.
