Offering the added convenience of an extra large feed chute, the Omega MMV702 Mega Mouth Low Speed Juicer uses a ground-breaking design that gives it a performance that can equal our previous 'best in class' juicer. New for 2017 and complete with a separate smoothie screen and a homogenising attachment for processing nut butters, fruit sorbets, sauces, purees and more, the Omega MMV700 brings even more to the party than just juicing. Originating from the NUC factory in South Korea and not to be confused with the many poor performing Chinese whole slow juicers out there, this new model from Omega employs the same juicing technology as the Kuvings C9500, wrapped in a more convenient package and backed by Omega's global reputation.
The MMV stands for Mega Mouth Vert on this large feed chute vertical slow juicer, although at 76mm wide the feed chute won't accept very large apples - smaller apples are usually cheaper anyway and great for juicing so if you love apple juice this is a great machine to have. With the homogeniser and smoothie screen included, the rather long full title of this juicer becomes: 'The Omega MMV702 Mega Mouth Low Speed Juicer And Nutrition System'. The 2 denotes European voltage and the extra functions increase the versatility of this machine offering healthy nut butters, fruit sorbets from frozen fruit, smoothies, nut milks and more. We've waited a while to find a juicer that can offer similar performance to our beloved Omega VSJ843 and we can honestly say that the performance of the MMV702 is equal in terms of juice yield and texture - the very best in class!
One thing we've often found a bit annoying about other whole slow juicers is that even though you can feed more ingredients at a time, most of them don't have that thing we enjoy in all standard feed chute single auger juicers - a hopper style lid. The Omega MMV comes with a hopper (that flat ledge surrounding the opening) which means when you are feeding handfuls of spinach, berries or chopped celery for example - there's much less chance that you'll drop any over the edge of the mouth, straight into the juice jug below where you have to fish them out of the juice!
The MMV comes with a useful wrap around cleaning brush for the screen that removes the bulk of any remaining pulp when you are done and you are well supplied with two other brushes for thorough cleaning after the juicing is done. The fine holes in the juicing screen do take a little bit longer to clean than on the Omega VSJ with some ingredients, due to the different way that these two machines deal with pulp ejection, but it's not a big deal and for most people the faster juicing times offered by the large feed chute and more powerful motor will be a big plus. Even though the MMV is only spinning at a slow 60rpm, the big feed allows it to chomp through more ingredients with each turn.
