We think we know why Sage have decided to shoehorn the word ‘cold’ into the name of one of their juicers. It’s been a long term problem in the juicing world trying to debunk the quack claims made in some circles that ‘centrifugal juicers destroy nutrition in juice by heat’. The idea that centrifugal juicers do this has no scientific merit whatsoever. But some particularly aggressive sellers of Cold Press Juicers have been reinvigorating this myth in recent years to try and steer people towards their products with parasitic marketing campaigns against brands like Sage. It’s amazing how some businesses can spread the lie that ‘centrifugal Juicers destroy nutrients’ so successfully that a massive manufacturer like the Breville Group responds in this way, in order to prove to consumers that it is simply untrue. In the case of the Nutri Juicer Cold, they’ve had it lab tested to prove that the juice never changes temperature more than 0.9ºC, to reassure people against the pseudoscience being promoted by some unscrupulous brands.

So, they’re solving a non-existent problem that someone invented to shift the balance of sales away from this hugely popular centrifugal juicer format, and to be clear – none of the Juicers in our range add significant heat or destroy nutrition in juice. Never have.
