The Omega NC1000 offers various upgrades over previous Nutrition Centre models and while Omega haven’t exactly reinvented the wheel, they have done enough to justify the ‘premium’ part of the name with this new model. It feels more solid, the parts appear to be even more durable and the motor is now even quieter, although most horizontal juicers are relatively quiet in use. The addition of a sieve that sits in the top of the juice collector is a nice touch and the overall look of the juicer has been subtly updated without losing its striking visual appeal.
The pulp outlet pressure adjuster has been reworked and feels like a much more solid assembly than the older version. The new auger (the juicing screw) is slightly longer with a slightly larger pressing area and the juice filter screen now has stainless mesh at the back as well as the front. With the cosmetic tweaks to the rest of the design, Omega have presented a great package for the juicing aficionado with the NC1000. Low speed horizontal juicers are very versatile machines in general and offer excellent performance across a wider range of ingredients, with the best performance coming from vegetables and leafy greens. The homogenising functions allow you to make nut butter, fruit icecream and sorbet, purees, noodles and more. The juicing performance from the NC1000 is as good as it gets with this type of juicer and the premium look and feel of this latest Omega model is sure to appeal to the discerning health enthusiast. Highly recommended.
(Please note, the UK voltage model is also known as the Omega NC1002 with the ‘2’ denoting the different voltage motor – it is exactly the same juicer in all other respects)
