The acetate screw section of the jumbo gears has a new profile to offer a mixing stage just before the pressing stage. The manufacturer claims that this is in line with Max Gerson's juicing theory, where pulp and juice are mixed together before pressing.

The idea in the Gerson Therapy is to mix pulp and juice so that the juice flushes out extra minerals from the juice when the mixture is pressed in a hydraulic press.

This eliminates the risk of over or under-tightening and brings the ease of use more in line with comparable juicers like the Green Power Kempo Juicer.
Other improvements include a safety interlock switch so you can't switch it on when the front cover is off and a new easier to use pulp pressure adjuster. The whole package is pretty impressive. The GSE-5050 is a beast of a machine, solid, sure-footed and with the great performance you should expect from a Twin Gear Masticating juicer. The new gears also offer improved juicing with softer fruits. Its a lot of juicer and its not exactly cheap but this level of quality and engineering comes at a price. Highly recommended.
